Griselda (Gail) A. Young, 87, died May 13 at her home in the Hyatt Classic Residence in Plantation, FL. Before moving to Florida to be near her daughter, she and her husband resided in Severna Park for more than 50 years. She was born June 28, 1923, in Copenhagen, Denmark. She came to the United States with her parents at age three and was raised in northern New Jersey. She met her future husband during a visit to a girlfriend whose family had moved to Maryland and is survived by her devoted husband Chester R. Young. They would have celebrated their 70th anniversary in August. Mrs. Young was a homemaker and a partner in C.R. Young Co. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and most of all being a mother. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Carol Ann Marcin of Ft. Lauderdale; son, David R. Young of Salisbury; two grandsons; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Edna Schmidt, of River Edge, NJ. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home. Interment was private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vitas Hospice Charitable Fund, 5420 N.W. 33rd Ave., Ste. 100, Ft. Lauderdale, FL. 33309.
