Margie Jeffries

JEFFRIES, MARGIE SELBY, passed away peacefully at the age of 80, on June 22, 2013. She was raised in Bath, NC, but couldn't wait to leave the farm life. She relocated to Washington, DC, to be with her older sister, Susie Selby Bushman; she met, married and raised a family with Charles (Charlie) Jeffries, who passed away in 2003. She leaves behind three children: Robin Jeffries Cheslock of Richmond, VA, Charles (Dawn) Jeffries Jr. of Davidsonville, MD, and Jay (Amy) Jeffries of Chesapeake Beach, MD. She also leaves eight beloved grandchildren and many friends. Margie was a free spirit who loved life and everyone around her. She was feisty and affectionate to the end. She was not above using well-placed profanity, but she always expressed affection for the people in her life with a warm hug, a big smile, and an "I love you" right up to the end. Margie loved warm sunny weather, and her favorite place was her beach home at Sea Colony in Bethany Beach, DE. She was blessed with many friends from all walks of life and will be greatly missed, but we all know that Charlie, Betty, and Bob have pulled up a chair, poured her a cup of coffee, and dealt her in for a hand for bridge. A celebration of her life will be heldFriday, June 28, 2013, at2:00 PMat St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 1101 Bay Ridge Avenue, Annapolis (Eastport), MD 21403. Reception to follow at Watergate Village. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to The Hope House in Crownsville, MD, or to Hospice of the Chesapeake.
