I did not find out until recently Shawn had passed. I was his platoon leader in German (501st MP CO.). Shawn was my driver when we were in the field. He was an outstanding young man at that time. I followed his progress as he completed the SF Q. We always talked about him going SFAF and I always encourged him to go for it. I tracked his career as much as I could, and lived life through all of his accomplishments. Shawn, you made it brother. Rest in peace. To his family all my best. Shawn was the best Soldier I had ever seen, and nothing but a warrior. I am soo sorry for your lost, a man lost way too early.

Sean sounds like an incredible young man, one taken way too early to finish accomplishing all he seemed to plan to do. All of his family must be so proud of his dedication to his country and his many accomplishments.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his entire family. The Hoppel Family
