Clara C. Schaeffer

Clara C. Schaeffer, 100, of Westminster passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 10, 2023 at her home. Born in Baltimore, MD on June 30, 1922 to the late Vincent and Josephine Valianti, she was the last surviving of eight children; Dino Valianti, Anna Lolli, Dominic Valianti, Mary Caple, Reno Valianti, Romeo Valianti, and Louis Valianti. Clara was the wife of the late Richard C. Schaeffer, Sr., for 42 years. She was the mother of Barbara J. Horneff (Don), Richard C. Schaeffer, Jr. (Stephanie), Robert L. Schaeffer (Diane), and Susan M. Molfino (the late Ernesto). She had nine grandchildren: Eric Disharoon (Gina), Grant Disharoon (Leona), Peter Schaeffer (Ashley), Gino Molfino (Ashley), Matthew Schaeffer, Mia Molfino Posner (Stephen), Patrick Schaeffer (Sarah), Jamie Brown and Lauren Horneff. She also had eleven great-grandchildren; Elijah Disharoon, Adah Jane Disharoon, Karson Fahey, Lily Posner, Eli Posner, Poppy Molfino, Jordyn Brown, Lola Schaeffer, Antonio Disharoon, Renn Posner and Noa Posner. She is also survived by brother-in-law David Herting and numerous nieces and nephews. Clara was a devoted homemaker, who lovingly raised her family. She graduated from Westminster High School, class of 1939. She was a former member of the Westminster Moose Family Center Lodge #1381. The family will welcome friends on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 from 11-12 Noon at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. Funeral services will begin at 12 Noon, with Rev. Dr. David Highfield officiating. The service will be livestreamed for those who are unable to attend.
