James Leach Obituary



James William "Jim" Leach, Jr., 66, of Westminster, died Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at Carroll Hospital Center.

Born Feb. 28, 1947, in The Plains, Va., he was the son of the late James William Leach Sr. and Lilly Blanch Windsor Leach, of Westminster.

He was employed as an electrician. He was a member of Calvary Christian Fellowship in Westminster.

He was a Redskin and Orioles fan, an animal lover and enjoyed watching western movies.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are daughter Angel N. Leach, of Hagerstown; son James William Leach III, of Fairbanks, Alaska; sisters Dorothy V. Hopfer and husband James, of New Market, Mary Leach, of Westminster, Evelyn Kilgore, of Westminster, Patricia Kisner and husband Raymond, of Hagerstown; brothers John Leach and wife Shirley, of Kissimmee, Fla., Elmer Leach and wife Edna, of Frost Proof, Fla., George Leach and wife Pauline, of Frederick, and Dane Cooper, of Germantown; grandchildren James W. Leach IV, of Hagerstown, and Gary Leach, of Florida; niece and caregiver Jennifer Isherwood and husband Mark, of Westminster; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by brother Dean Cooper and brother-in-law James Kilgore.

The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of a service at 11 a.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster, with Rev. Ted Hill of Calvary Christian Fellowship officiating. Interment will be in Westminster Cemetery.
