There's not a lot left that I can say about Kathy other than what I have written in the memory books. She was a very special person and a tireless worker at church. She did so much good. She had a marvelous sense of humor. When my husband died, she told me things that made me feel better.I will never forget her and am so happy to have known her. A few years ago, I lost another friend to cancer who was much like Kathy. Her whole life was devoted to working with special needs kids and she was so much fun. These are the people that we hope to have in our lives forever, so it really hurts when they are taken from us.My late husband was much the same and I miss him so much. It is a fact of life that we have to come to terms with these things, but we will never forget the people that we admired so much, and Kathy was one of those for me.

I come here every once in a while to reread these wonderful things about Kathy. Thanks to every one of you for sharing memories. She always talked so fondly of her teaching days and coaching days, she was so proud and I remember some of your names from her stories. Please feel free to add more. I love it. It has been 5 months and I still miss her terribly, I think that I still wait and expect her to show up anytime. I love you Kathy and miss you.

Kathy "Mrs Sarbaugh" as so many fondly remember her as, was a tough but fair coach, teacher, and leader. She gave everyone the same chance to succeed if they put the work into it. I will always carry a deep respect for her, and will be ever grateful for influence in my life. Rest in peace Mrs. Sarbaugh, and God bless Tina, Toni, and all the family.

Kathy, or Mrs. Sarbaugh as I will always remember her, was my favorite teacher of all time. She affected my life in ways I could never adequately articulate. She was a pioneer of her time, stressing the importance of girls mastering skills like math and sports. I hope she was able to appreciate how far she helped to progress that movement. A truly wonderful woman who will be sorely missed, and I regret not being able to tell her so. Healing thoughts to her friends and family; we cherished her and will forever hold her memory in our thoughts.

Kathy Sarbaugh was an all-around fantastic person. I had the privilege to have her as a teacher and coach. Her kindness to me has never been forgotten and I wish I had told her how much that truly meant to me. She fought for me and made it possible for me, a one-armed girl, to be able to play volleyball. God knows that took a tough lady! God bless her and keep her! Always remembered in our thoughts, memories and prayers.

Life is short, no doubt about it. As a new WIPer, I know Tina and Kathy for only a small amount of time. I am saddened by her loss, however comforted, that she is in a better place now. God bless both of them.

It is with a heavy heart that I offer my sincere condolences to Kathy's entire family. She was my basketball coach/McSherrystown summer rec leader/friend. She had a profound effect on me and I learned so much about basketball (of course) and, more importantly, life from her-- it was long ago but her influence on me has never diminished. I pray that she is resting in peace with God and for comfort and strength for all who loved her.

My thoughts and prayers are w/ the entire family. Mrs. Sarbaugh has had a huge impact on my life and where I am today, starting in 5th grade as my math teacher and volleyball coach for years. Not a day goes by that I don't think back and thank her for being so diligent and tough on us. I am sure she impacted many lives in the same way. She will be missed. I am glad I got to reconnect w/ her over the past few years.
