Larry Davidson Obituary



Mr. Larry Karol Davidson, 80, of Taneytown, died suddenly Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Carroll Hospital Center. Born March 19, 1935 in Keymar, he was the son of the late Ralph G. and Agatha Hahn Davidson. He was the husband of Margaret Robbins Davidson, his wife of 57 years. Larry was a 1953 graduate of Taneytown High School. He served in the Air Force for 4 years, stationed in England where he met his wife. He was formerly employed at Black & Decker, H.B. White Laboratories and later with Worthington Pump, retiring from Flowserve Pump Corporation in 1997. He was a member of American Legion Hesson-Snyder Post #120 of Taneytown, Taneytown Rod and Gun Club and V.F.W. Post #6918 of Harney. Larry enjoyed hunting, gardening, cooking, reading and crafting Kentucky rifles. In addition to his wife he is survived by 2 daughters, Kelly Miller and husband Robert of Hanover, PA; Janise Chilcoat and husband Dan of Manchester; 6 grandchildren, Heather Bodnar and husband David, Sarah Fissel and husband Josh, Shelly Miller and fiancé Jake, Shana Miller and fiancé Drew, Alexandra Chilcoat and fiancé Phil and Luke Chilcoat, 12 great grandchildren and 3 sisters, Vivian Gardner, Eileen Hively and Billy and Diana Smith. He was predeceased by a sister, Joan Banks. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 28, at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge, with Dan Hartzler officiating, followed by inurnment in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Taneytown. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, where a memorial service will be conducted by members of the Hesson-Snyder American Legion Post at 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
