Richard Ingels Obituary



Richard "Jack" Ingels, age 85, formerly of Howard County, died Sunday, December 7, 2014, at Golden Living Center in Westminster. Mr. Ingels was an Engineer, Manager and Director during his 23 years with Westinghouse, 16 years with Bendix and 9 years with NSA. He served in the US Navy from 1946 to 1953. He attended the University of Maryland, College Park and McCoy College at Johns Hopkins. He was one of the founding fathers of the Elkridge Youth Organization, a member of the Western Howard County Baseball Organization, the Glenwood Lions Club and the American Legion Post #191. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Marion E. Ingels and his daughter, Susan Ingels Block. He was the devoted father of Bonnie Ingels, Debra Ingels and John Ingels, father-in-law of Robert Block and Janet Ingels, beloved grandfather of Nicholas Paparounis and companion Melanie Hall, Jennifer and Ellis Rush, Molly and Adam Block and Jeffrey and James Ingels. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 11, 2014, from 4 to 8pm at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the USO at www.uso.org/donate
