Robert "Herb" Llewellyn, 72, of Union Bridge, MD, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at BridgingLife Dove House in Westminster, following an extended illness. Born on March 4, 1953, in Michigan, Herb was the son of the late Jack Llewellyn and Virginia Andrews Llewellyn. He was the devoted husband of Kim Llewellyn, with whom he shared 41 years of marriage. Affectionately known as "Herb" since childhood, he was a 1971 graduate of Francis Scott Key High School. He spent his career with the Maryland State Highway Administration, retiring in 2010. Herb had a passion for the outdoors and hands-on hobbies. He loved hunting, crabbing, and golfing, and was especially proud of his skill in restoring classic cars. A talented benchrest shooter, he competed successfully in many shooting competitions over the years. In addition to his wife, Herb's family included his daughter and son-in-law, Rae and Wally Wolf of Gettysburg, PA; brothers, Butch, Gary, and Jack Llewellyn, all of Union Bridge; and his late siblings, Peggy Snyder, Patty Stewart, Vicky Bangs, and Pete Llewellyn, along with six stepsisters. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Rebecca Reed (Calvin); brothers-in-law, Greg Dayhoff (Cathy), Scott Dayhoff, and Brian Dayhoff (Marsha); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge, MD.
