Thela Squires Obituary

Thela M. Squires, 79, of Westminster, formerly of Fulton, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at Westminster Ridge Senior Living Center in Westminster. Born June 16, 1932, in Syracuse, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Claude and Ola Pierce. She was the wife of the late John C. Squires. She lived most of her life in Fulton. She was a graduate of Michigan State University and taught home economics at the Fulton Junior High School from 1954 to 1986. She was a member of State Street United Methodist Church, the New York State Retired Teachers Association, Friends of History in Fulton, Fulton Women's Club, Order of the Eastern Star, Carroll County Historical Society and various art associations. She enjoyed painting, crafting, volunteering and spending time with her three grandchildren. Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Susan E. and David K. Foote, of Westminster; and grandchildren Austin, Ethan and Isabella. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of service, 2 p.m. Saturday, at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton. Interment will be in Mount Adnah Cemetery in Fulton.
