Thomas Hampt Obituary

Thomas Wilson Hampt, 79, of Upperco, MD passed away on February 18, 2025. Born September 9, 1945 in Upperco, MD, he was the son of the late Lester and Sarah (Sprinkle) Hampt. Thomas was a longtime member of the American Legion Post 200 in Hampstead for 47 years. He worked locally his entire life as a machinist and security guard at Black and Decker for 44 years. Thomas enjoyed playing miniature golf and was known to play with his own personal club. He greatly enjoyed country music, and loved playing his Marlin guitar and singing. He also enjoyed watching sports games and loved to cheer on the Orioles, the Ravens, and the Maryland Terps. He is survived by his beloved partner of 33 years, Barb; as well as two sisters, Betty Lucille Concha of Mooresville, NC and Beatrice Ann Chandler of Franklin, IN; two brothers, Lester Gene Hampt of Fredericksburg, VA and David Glen Hampt of Upperco, MD; and two grandsons, Donnie Doyle and Hunter Ohler. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his stepson, Michael Doyle; and a grandson, Casey Doyle. The family will accept guests for a visitation held Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 1-2 PM at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St. Hampstead, MD 21074. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Michael Adams officiating. Interment to follow in Christ Lutheran Cemetery.

Gene,Betty and Bea, So sorry to hear of Tom's passing! He was the same age as my brother Eugene (who passed away in the early 90's)
I remember them riding the school bus all that way to Reisterstown!!
