Ronald Vieselmeyer, 84

A Celebration of Life service will be held for Ronald Ross Vieselmeyer, PhD at the Coeur d'Alene Bible Church (5350 N. 4th St., Cd'A) on Friday, May 30th at 1 pm. Ron passed away peacefully after a short illness on May 17, 2025.

Ron was born on February 13, 1941 in Nampa, Idaho. He was raised on a dairy farm. Ron had a strong calling to serve God and his community and pursued that by graduating from Toronto Bible College. Ron accepted a pastorship in Ganges, British Columbia. Ron was determined to share the Lord with as many people as possible and became an evangelist with Open Air Campaigners in Toronto, Canada. Ron moved his family to Southern California to continue his evangelism. Ron felt compelled to further his education and completed his Masters and Doctorate degrees in Psychology.

Ron then met the love of his life, Kate, a nurse and in 1978 relocated the family to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Ron opened the Help Center a marriage and family counselling ministry, in addition to overseeing Highway Evangelism and the Bible Billboard along I-90 for more than 40 years.

Ron served North Idaho in various capacities for almost 50 years. Ron was an elected Idaho State Representative, Kootenai County Deputy Sheriff for crisis counselling, elected North Idaho College Trustee, fill-in Pastor for local churches and companion to 'Windy' the wolf, the official mascot of Lake City High School for 10 years. Ron was a published author and continued to be involved politically and supported causes with Christian principles.

Ron was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and continually promoted Idaho.

Ron will be deeply missed by his wife Kate, children - Monte (Wendie), Mark and Julie (Matt) and grandchildren - Jessica, Christopher, Austin, Aiden, Madison, Maverick and Victoria.

Ron is survived by his four siblings, Lloyd (Owene), Lois (Earl), Curt (Roberta) and Joyce (Mel) and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation to the charity of your choice. The need is great.

We met Ron through the Christian Singles group that met in the basement of the Bible Book Nook, where Ron had his Christian Counseling office. We met each other there, dated and were married by Ron in May, 1983. If not for Ron's vision of a Christian singles group we probably would never have met.
We are thankful for Ron and his Christian leadership in our community and for being a warm and caring friend. Our warmest condolences to Kate and Julie.

Ron was a very quiet, easy going and unassuming family man with Godly principles. Ron faithfully served his Country in many ways. He fought the good fight and finished the race, always remaining faithful. We didn't really lose him because we know where he is.

My wife and I fondly remember Ron. He and Kate visited us twice in Germany. The Vieselmeyer family (sometimes spelled Vieselmeier) has its roots nearby, specifically in the community of Börninghausen (now a district of Preußisch Oldendorf). I also fondly remember the family reunion in Laramie, Wyoming, and my visit to Ron and Kate in Coeur d'Alene. Our thoughts and prayers are with Kate, as well as their children, Monte, Mark, and Julie, and their families, Ulrike Schröder, and Kurt Vieselmeier.

Ed and Marilyn Taves. We had the privilege to develop a deep friendship to Ron and Kate, being their pastor at Ironwood Chapel for ten years. Through the years they always opened their home to stay and fellowship when we traveled through. Ron will be missed but we know He now has residence in an even better eternity with the Lord he served while on this earth. God bless the family with healing and guidance in their loss.

When we hear Ron´s name we smile. He was a strong Christian warrior and teacher. He was one whose face lit up when he saw you and remembered you by name. We love to quote him when we talk of him. Our fav quote is when we look at each other we say anything "in Love". To understand how memorable this quote is you would have to hear him say it with his exaggerated drawl.

Dear God, hold this precious son of yours with extreme pride. He has been a faithful servant to you and we are as happy as you are that he now resides with you. Amen
