Susan Vieselmeyer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sullivan's Funeral Home - Horseheads on Dec. 30, 2025.
Susan L. Vieselmeyer

Susan Vieselmeyer of Breesport, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 22, 2025, at the age of 71. While our hearts are broken, anyone who knew Susan knows she would want this space filled with color, flowers, laughter, and good stories.

Born on September 30, 1954, in Syracuse, NY, Susan was the daughter of Marty and Tommy Alves. A gifted artist with an eye for beauty in everything, she earned her Master of Fine Arts degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology and spent her life as a passionate Goldsmith, creating one-of-a-kind jewelry that-much like Susan herself-was bold, beautiful, and impossible to replicate.

Susan had a deep love for nature and could often be found in her gardens, coaxing life from the soil or admiring whatever had bloomed that day. She believed flowers made everything better (and she was right). She was a devoted wife, a fiercely loving mother, and a proud grandmother who cherished every moment with her family. Susan had an unmatched joy for life, a contagious laugh, and a smile that made people feel instantly at home. Life simply felt brighter when Susan was in the room.

She was welcomed home by her beloved husband, Brad; her parents, Marty and Tommy; her father-in-law, Orval; her mother-in-law, Mae; and her brother-in-law, Mark.

Left to carry on her sparkle and spirit are her children: Alicia Ann (Chris) Patchoski, Kayce Mae (Shawn) Kelly, and Paul Michael Vieselmeyer; her adored grandchildren, Jacob, Lucas, and Charlotte Patchoski; and her very special four-legged granddaughter, Dakota Kelly. She is also survived by her siblings-Jeffrey (Tina) Alves, Christine (John) Reiff, John Alves, Marybeth (George) Gillis, and Matthew (Cynthia) Alves-along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever miss her light.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Susan's life at Sullivan's Funeral Home, 365 E. Franklin St. at Rt. 13, Horseheads, NY, on January 3, 2025, from 2–4 p.m., with a Blessing to follow at 4 p.m.

Flowers are not only welcome-they're encouraged. Shower her with love and color, just as they brought her endless joy in life. Condolences and favorite memories may be shared in Susan's Book of Memories at www.sullivansfuneralhome.com.
