Lawrence W "Larry" Perkins

1948 - 2015

Lawrence Waddell Perkins, affectionately known to his friends as "Larry," was born on January 8, 1948 in Louisa, Virginia to the late Letcher and Helen Perkins. He was the oldest of four children born of this union.
He graduated from Louisa High School and later moved to Washington, D.C., where he served as staff support for the U.S. Senate. Lawrence married and had one child from that union, Lawrence Waddell Perkins, Jr.
As a son, brother, father, uncle, cousin and friend, he touched many lives. Friends and family will remember special moments with Lawrence at family cookouts, church revivals and holiday gatherings. He had a great sense of humor and a greater love for good food.
Lawrence leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Lawrence Perkins Jr.; brother, Letcher "Levi" Perkins; sisters, Sheila Trowers and Camilla King; honorary sister and cousin, Gaylene Musgrove; nieces, Ashley Trowers and Natalie King; nephew, Eric Perkins; brother-in-law, Andre King; sister-in-law, Barbara Perkins; cousins, Janice Banks, Lisa Pegues, Anthony Banks, Kyre Perkins, Javier McDougal; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Thomasson Watson Funeral Chapel, Louisa, Virginia, with the Rev. Dr. Earl Pendleton, officiating. Interment followed at the First Baptist Church Cemetery.
