David Keller Obituary

David C. Keller David C. Keller, 73, of Lancaster, died on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, at Lancaster General Hospital, after a long illness. He was born in Bellefonte, to the late Charles and Agnesbelle (Caris) Keller. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia (Lefever) Keller, and son, Michael, both of Lancaster. David and Patricia would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 2. In addition, he is survived by Michael's fiancŽe, Deborah Rynier, of Lancaster; sister, Eleanor (Keller) Benner, and nephew, David Benner, and niece, Jaci (Benner) Confer, all of Bellefonte. He also has nephews, Charles "Chuck" and Greg Delsart, and niece, Sue (Delsart) Linskeins, all of Green Bay, Wis. A graduate of Bellefonte High School, Kutztown University and Penn State University, he received a Masters Degree in Education. In 1969, he was awarded the Valley Forge Freedom Foundation Medal for writing the play, "The Paths of Man." David was the head of the high school Art Department at Eastern Lancaster County School District until his retirement in 1990. During his tenure, he wrote original plays for performance at the high school. He was an avid artist, history reader, and writer of plays and poetry, having a book of his poetry published. During the Bicentennial (1976), he portrayed Lancaster's Revolutionary War General, Edward Hand, in many local events. He was a member of the Grace UCC Church in Lancaster. Private graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, March 24, 2006, at Conestoga Memorial Park.
