Wanda Gordon Obituary
September 21, 1934 - November 14, 2024
State College, Pennsylvania - Wanda L. Gordon, 90, of State College, died Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Celebration Villa of Nittany Valley.
Born September 21, 1934, in Butler, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Juliette Boulanger Hepler. She was a 1952 graduate of Butler High School. She married Paul A. Gordon, who preceded her in death. They shared more than 66 years together.
Wanda and Paul moved to State College with their three children in 1965 where Paul began working for West Penn Power Company. Wanda retired from Penn State University in 1992 after 21 years of service.
Wanda was a member of the Ladies Blue Course Golf League and past president of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Wanda was known for her wonderful sense of humor. Whether she shared a joke or story she always enjoyed making people laugh and she laughed with them.
Her hobbies included golfing, bowling, crossword puzzles, reading novels and crocheting items for her family and friends including American flags that she donated to several service clubs in and around State College. During retirement years, Wanda and Paul spent many winters in Florida and travelled around the country.
She is survived by three children, Linda Stevens (David), Gary Gordon, Marilee Haupt (Philip); two sisters, Carol Biggie (Paul deceased); Diana Meals (Donald); four grandchildren, Michael Stevens, Jonathan Stevens, Matthew (Kelsey) Haupt and Nichole Haupt, and one great-grandson, Isaiah Haupt. In addition to her parents and husband, Wanda is predeceased by two brothers and three sisters.
She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. A private service was held for Wanda's immediate family.
