Carl Junior Furr
CONCORD -- Mr. Furr, 80, of Concord, NC, passed away Friday, April 1, 2011, at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, NC.
Mr. Furr was born February 15, 1931 in Montgomery County. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris S. Furr; father, Carl Homer Furr; mother, Margaret Leona Bogle Furr; and daughter, Janice Furr Williams.
The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, April 3, at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord. The funeral will be 12:00 noon, Monday, with a 30-minute state, at Gloryland Baptist Church, Charlotte, officiated by Rev. Sammy Case. Burial will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. At other times, the family will meet at his home, 2974 Wendover Road, Concord, or the home of his son, Mike, 2716 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte. A member of Gloryland Baptist Church, Charlotte, he was a Korean War Veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife of 11 years, Fodie Louise Clontz Furr, of the home; sons, Mike Furr, of Charlotte, and Gary Furr and wife, Judy, of Iron Station; brother, James M. Furr and wife, Pam, of Albemarle; sister, Judy F. Clark and husband, Marvin, of Sebring, Florida; stepson, Danny Price, of Concord; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Gloryland Baptist Church, 3001 Gloryland Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28213.
Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord, is serving the Furr family.

My dearest brother I love and miss you terribly. I particularly miss not hearing your voice on the phone when I call your earthly home. But, however I know you are in your Heavenly home now.
