Christopher Cornwall Obituary

Christopher Cornwall
June 5, 1963 - December 15, 2021
Charlotte, North Carolina - Christopher Cole Cornwall, 58, of Charlotte, passed away on December 15 of natural causes.
Chris was born June 5, 1963 in Lodi, California, the beloved son of Suzanne Foster McGough, of Charlotte and Atlanta, and Clovis Elliot Cornwall of Long Beach, California.
Chris attended UNC Wilmington where he played rugby and was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. He served in the US Navy in the Mediterranean and Baltic Seas. He lived in Atlanta, GA; Durham, NC; Key West, Fl; and later in Charlotte.
Key West was the place Chris called home for 20 years. He loved the weather, the laid back lifestyle, and most of all the fishing. Chris had a great number of hobbies, including aviation, horseback riding, photography, Formula 1 racing, cooking, and most recently, genealogy - tracing his family lines back to the Middle Ages.
Chris is survived by his mother, Suzanne McGough, his brothers and their wives, Bo and Karen Weatherly, of Charlotte, and Robert and Vanessa Weatherly, of Atlanta. He was a wonderful uncle to his nephews, Sam Poole and Will Weatherly, and his niece, Wynne Weatherly, all of Charlotte. He was predeceased by his father, Clovis.
Services are planned in Key West, Florida at a later date. As an alternative to flowers, the family requests you make donations to:
