Connie Williams Obituary

Connie Johnston Williams
Mrs. Williams, age 95, formerly of Charlotte, died March 2, 2005 at Huntersville Oaks. A service to celebrate her life will be at 11 a.m. Friday at McEwen Charlotte Chapel with Reverend T. J. Thompson officiating. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Taylor Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Union Grove, NC. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 Friday, prior to the funeral hour at the funeral home.
Mrs. Williams was born August 5, 1909 in Mecklenburg County, daughter of the late Walter E. and Elizabeth Cox Johnston. She was a member of the Taylor Springs Baptist Church in Union Grove, and was associated with Belk's Department Store before retiring.
Survivors are her sisters, Margaret McKee and Louise Hagler, both of Charlotte; and many nephews and nieces.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, R.B. Williams, sister, Annie Ford, and brothers, W.O. Johnston, Evans B. Johnston, and Freddie Lee Johnston.
Memorials may be made to Cook's Memorial Presbyterian Church, 3413 Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road, Charlotte, NC 28216, or Taylor Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 443 Taylor Springs Road, Union Grove, NC 28689.
The family would like to thank the staff of Huntersville Oaks Nursing Home, especially 'G' Floor for their loving care and kind care of Mrs. Williams during her stay there.
