Dan Henry Humphries
Heaven is getting another Angel. Dan Henry Humphries, devoted and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend, died Sunday April 1, 2007 with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. Born February 7, 1933, Dan was a son of the late Archie Humphries and Mary Helen Beason Humphries of Mooresboro, NC.
Dan was active in the Army and was stationed in Germany in his early years. He retired from Great Dane Trailers as a shop foreman after 33 years of dedicated service. His is a member of Hopewell Baptist Church of Davidson NC. His hobbies were his grandchildren!
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Peggy Morris Humphries; son, Keith Humphries and wife, Denise, of Athens, GA; daughter, Pam Hill and husband, Mitchell, of Concord, NC; grandchildren, Clint Humphries and wife, Amy, of Lincolnton, Kelly Hill Garmon and husband, Toby, of China Grove, Heidi Humphries and Caleb Humphries of Athens, GA, and Michelle Hill of Concord; and great-granddaughter, Regan Humphries of Lincolnton. Dan's brothers include Archie Humphries, Jr., Larry Humphries, the late Buddy Ray Humphries and the late Steve Humphries from Rutherford County.
A service to celebrate Dan's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 3, at Hopewell Baptist Church, led by Rev. Sammy Pierce. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
His family would like to thank Dr. Thomas Steffens of Northeast Medical Center and the Oncology Department for their care and treatment over the last 4 years. They would also like to thank Hospice and Palliative Care of Lake Norman (Kathy Harris and Rita Smith) for their tender loving care of Dan during his last months.
Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of Hopewell Baptist Church, 18841 Davidson Concord Road, Davidson, NC 28036 or Hospice and Palliative Care of Lake Norman, 705 Griffith Street, Suite 203 Davidson, NC 28036.

The entire Humphries family is in our thoughts and prayers. Dan truly was an exceptional family man, and he was a dedicated and outstanding employee of our company for thirty three years.
