Donna Mundt Obituary

Donna Mundt
December 28, 1941 - October 18, 2022
Charlotte, North Carolina - Mrs. Donna Marjorie Mundt (Tuzio), 80, of Charlotte, passed away, with her loving daughters by her side, on Tuesday, October 18th at Novant Health Medical Center Matthews.
Visitation, with a Rosary Service, will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 25th at St. Gabriel Catholic Church. A Mass of the Resurrection, with Father Ed Sheridan officiating, will follow at noon. Burial will be at Sharon Memorial Park.
Mrs. Mundt was born in Albany, NY to the late Dr. Vincent F. and Mrs. Marjorie A. Tuzio. She spent the majority of her childhood in Cairo, NY, where her father was a general practitioner.
She was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Donna is predeceased by her beloved husband of over thirty years, Walter F. Mundt and her dear sister, Barbara J. Frazier of Winthrop, MA.
She is survived by her two daughters, Lisa Foster (Andrew) of Charlotte and Kristen Craver (Steven) of Clemmons; five grandchildren, Hope Brown (Ryan) of Lewisville, Brian Craver (Liz) of Clayton, Sarah Dobbins (Jake) of Mount Holly, Shannon Craver (Caleb) of Clemmons and Anna Foster of Charlotte; and one great-grandchild, Walter Brown of Lewisville. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and her best friend of over forty years, Donna Campbell (Larry) of Fuquay-Varina.
A true and faithful servant of the Lord, Donna lived her life with grace and humility. She could always be counted on for her sense of humor and love of a cold Diet Coke. Donna's abundance of love for others showed in her daily life as a registered nurse. She spent her working years at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY and Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC.
She will be greatly missed, and her memory will be cherished always. Knowing Donna's deep faith, we can only imagine the warm welcome she has received from family, friends and Jesus' warm, loving arms.
Memorials may be made in Donna's name to Cairo Historical Society, PO Box 803 Cairo, NY 12413.
The family would like to thank the staff of the 4th floor and the 5th floor intermediate care unit of Novant Mathews Medical Center for their compassionate care of Donna and for their extraordinary kindness to the family.

It is with great sorrow that I learned of the passing of Donna. She was a grand lady who always had a smile and pleasant greeting. We met at the exercise class at St. Gabriel's several years ago. I am honored to have known this wonderful lady and to know that my name and phone number were in her effects.
Thank you. My thoughts and prayers are with all of her family.

We always had a special bond from the first day I met her when we worked together at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. We shared many stories and laughs along the way. Will always be loved.
