Esther Caton Obituary
Ruth Covington Caton
Mrs. Caton, of Charlotte, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 3, 2012.
She was born June 20, 1931, in Wadesboro, NC, to the late Mamie Lee and James H. Covington.
Esther retired from Charlotte Pipe and Foundry June 30, 1996, where she worked in a variety of roles in accounting. They were her extended family for 30 years.
She was a true Christian and remained active in the Women's Circle and Bible Study at Tabernacle ARP and later Craig Avenue Tabernacle ARP Church until her most recent illness.
She was predeceased by husband William T. 'Bill' Caton, and son, Robert C. Caton.
She is survived by her son, William T. 'Tom' Caton, Jr. and wife, Marty; daughter, Cindie Oxendine and husband, Terry; her cherished grandchildren, Josh and Kera Oxendine; sister, Sarah Wikle of Winston-Salem; many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews who were such a important part of her life; and special friend, Quint Austin and his extended family.
The family would like to express special thanks to the many friends who have supported her and her family throughout her life and especially during the past four months.
A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2012, at Craig Avenue Tabernacle ARP Church followed by visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Craig Avenue Tabernacle ARP Church, 3936 Craig Ave., Charlotte, NC 28211.

Sorry to hear the sad news of Esther.She and I worked together at Charlotte Pipe & Fdry for 3 yrs. in the Order Entry Dept. She was a great person to work with. My prayers go out to the Family.

I am so sorry to learn of Esther's death and wish I could attend her service. I am on vacation and out of town and was shocked to get this news. Esther and I worked together at CPF for over 26 years. She was a dear friend and very loved by all. Cindi & Tom and Family, I know she will be miss by you all. You all have our Deepest Sympathy and Prayers at this difficult time.

Esther was and will always be one of the best neighbors I have ever had. She lived in our small community. She made me smile and laugh and wish that I still had my mom here on earth with me. She was a great blessing to me and was deeply loved in her neighborhood! I miss her very much!
