Charlotte, North Carolina - Gene W. Helms, 89, of Charlotte died Friday, December 3, 2021 at his home.
Mr. Helms was born to the late Edward Helms and Lila Martin Helms on January 24, 1932. He was a member of Stallings United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge #676 and the NRA. Mr. Helms was preceded in death by his wife, Ollie Helms in 1998.
Mr. Helms is survived by his children Richard Helms (Kim), Lisa Sanders (Richard), Gary Helms; sister Doris Vaughn; grandchildren Brandon Helms, Brittany Elliott, Samantha Helms, Richard Sanders, Summer Rane and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held 2:00p.m., Thursday, December 9 in the chapel at Wilson Funeral and Cremation Service, 5301 Albemarle Rd., Charlotte. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
