Charlotte, North Carolina - James Edward Adams USN MMI (RET.), son of Lewis and Mable Adams passed suddenly Monday July 25, 2022. Funeral service to be held in the Chapel at Alexander Funeral Home 1424 Statesville Avenue, Charlotte, NC (viewing 11:00AM - 12:00PM followed immediately by the service). Interment will be Thursday, August 4, 2022 promptly at 11:00 AM at the National Cemetery Salisbury, NC, 202 Government Rd., Salisbury, NC. 28144.

James and I met in Hawaii in 1978. He was standing on the ship and yelled at me. He told me STOP. WAIT. I'LL BE RIGHT THERE. I don't know why, but I did. We went to Lunch and we were Friends until he passed. My Mother, Sister, Brother, Son, and I all LOVED James Edward Adams. He was and will ALWAYS be a Part of our Family. So with heartfelt LOVE, I say Goodbye to Petty Officer First Class James Edward Adams. I LOVE you THEN, NOW and FOREVER.❤

My deepest condolences to the family of Mr. James Adams. Growing up in Oakland, CA in the '70s and '80s, James and his family were friends with my mother and father and the two families did a lot together. After James moved back to NC we fell out of touch until about 2014 and we spoke a few times a year. James I will miss you terribly, you are an unforgettable soul and I will always have fond memories of our family vacations at the Monterey Jazz Festival; cruising around Oakland with you and my dad in your Trans Am; sailing around the San Francisco Bay on a big Navy ship; and most of all...your infectious laugh and humorous demeanor. Thank you for being a positive influence on my life and I am so sorry we did not get a chance to see one another one more time; but I know that you are up there driving a Pontiac laughing the entire time. Rest in peace good friend...or as my mother used to call you..."Mr. Adams".

God Bless this Family of Mr.James thru this time of sorrow. I didn't know Mr.James personally but the times that we did talk he seem like a very good man I used to run into Mr.James over at Rudean's restaurant and lounge alot. So sorry to hear Peace and Blessings!
