Jerry Watts Obituary

Jerry Lee Watts
Mr. Watts, 64, of Charlotte, died Monday, February 7, 2005 at Carolinas Medical Center. He was born August 25, 1940 in La Plata, MO and was a son of the late Vera Marie Taylor Watts and John Floyd Watts. His childhood was spent in Russell, Kansas. He attended the University of Georgia and following his marriage on January 21, 1961 to the former Vicki Burel he relocated to Charlotte. Mr. Watts was a self employed manufacturer's representative in the food service industry for over 40 years and was a member of Philadelphia Presbyterian Church. He was a member of Strides for Strength at the Dowd YMCA. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who was well liked and respected by all who knew him. He will be missed greatly.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, February 11, 2005 from Philadelphia Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Gaye Brown and Rev. Wayne Frazier officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the church.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Vicki B. Watts; children, Heather Guest and husband Bill of Charlotte; Todd Watts and wife Katie of Charleston, SC; Coby Watts and wife Jennifer of Davidson; Robin Watts of Charlotte; brothers, Marvin Watts and wife Linda of Bluemont, VA; Jan Watts and wife Cindi of Brookville Ohio; seven grandchildren, Evan Guest, Griffin Guest, Caroline Watts, Jackson Watts, Anna Claire Watts, Ryan Watts and Danielle Watts; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Philadelphia Presbyterian Church, 11501 Bain School Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Thomas Phillips, Dr. Mark Kirsch, Dr. James Boyd, Dr. Gregory Underwood and their nurses for the comfort and care giving to Mr. Watts during his illness.
Arrangements are by McEwen Funeral & Cremation Service, Mint Hill Chapel.
