Regina Tully Obituary

Regina Bernat Tully "Teenie" CHARLOTTE - Regina Bernat Tully, "Teenie", died November 10, 2014 while in hospice care at Novant Matthews. Born in NYC, October 24, 1921, she was preceded in death by all seven of her siblings. She was the widow of Harold Wade Tully. She is survived by her son, Roger, and his wife, Joyce of Lawrenceville, GA, and her daughter, Darlene Cartier and her husband, Ron, of Waxhaw, NC. She leaves behind four grandchildren, Kelly Mehler, Scott Hartis, Stephanie Tully, and Allyson Clifford, and four great-grandchildren, Hart, Holden, Madelyn, and Preston. Teenie grew up in NYC, married Harold after his return from the Pacific arena of the war in 1945. After a brief stop in WVA, they made their home in Houston, TX. Business transferred them in the late 50's to Charlotte where they lived in the Eastway Park area for over 50 years. Teenie gave generously of her time in retirement to her home church, St. Andrew's Episcopal until its closing just a few years ago. She will be remembered for her tireless support of bazaars, cake bakes, Civitan lunches served by the Episcopal Church Women. Teenie's ashes will be scattered in the Memorial Garden at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Charlotte comingled with Harold's ashes. The memorial service will begin at 10:00 AM, Friday, November 14, 2014. A reception will follow in the church Parlor. Free parking is across 7th street from the church in the Trans America Parking Deck. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for St. Peter's Soup Kitchen in care of Urban Ministries, or to Thompson Children's Home in her memory. Teenie's family takes this opportunity to thank Novant Hospice, Matthews, for their nurturing and loving care in her final days, enabling her to pass from this world in dignity and with respect.
