Robert DeLoach Obituary

Robert Conley DeLoach GREENSBORO - Robert Conley DeLoach, age 5, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 14, 2015, at Moses Cone Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, September 17, 2015, at First Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, North Carolina. Family will receive friends in the Virginia Gilmer Room following the service. Robert is survived by his parents, Debbie and Harris DeLoach III, and brother, Harris DeLoach IV, all of Greensboro. He is also survived by grandparents, Joyce and Robert Allison of High Point, North Carolina and Louise and Harris DeLoach, Jr. of Hartsville, South Carolina; aunts and uncles, John Wilson DeLoach and wife Amy of Savannah, Georgia, Jeanette Florence and husband John of Columbia, South Carolina, Rebecca Melton and husband Patrick of Raleigh, NC; cousins, Max, Ansley, Tyler, Wilson, John, Sam, Malloy, and Charlie. Robert was a very energetic little boy who loved being a part of everything. He loved his family more than anything, especially his big brother, Harris. He wanted to participate in any activity that his brother was involved in. He loved all sports, and his favorite sports activity was watching his brother play baseball. He always felt like a member of his brother's baseball team, and loved being a part of the Team Majestic family. Robert attended CCEP, at UNC-Greensboro where he loved all his teachers, therapists, and friends. Robert was born with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome, which made many visits to doctor's offices necessary. He was the strongest person that his family has ever known, and was loved by many people. His family is beyond appreciative of all his doctors, nurses, teachers, and therapists that have provided such loving care to Robert over the course of his life. We would like to thank the entire staff at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia 22q clinic, the entire staff at Duke Medical Center and the entire staff at Carolina Pediatrics of the Triad for their loving care for Robert. We would especially like to thank Dr. Alan Cooper for his intense love, care, and compassion for Robert and our entire family since the day that Robert was born. Our family will continue to be blessed by the presence of Dr. Cooper in our lives. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to "22q and You Center, Clinical Genetics Educational Fund" c/o Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, 3401 Civic Center Boulevard, Room 8C05, Philadelphia, PA 19104 or The Dempster Family Foundation, via www.dempsterfamilyofundation.org. Robert was the most determined child that I have ever known. He had a joyful spirit, an amazing smile and was full of life and love. He will remain in my heart forever. As our hearts are breaking, I can find comfort in my belief that Robert is watching us from above and is in a place where he can run and play without any limitations. I will forever miss his sweet smile and him taking my hand to show me something. My prayers are with you Harris, Debbie and Harris. Your CCEP family will forever be here to support you.
