Ronald Maddox Obituary

Ronald S. Maddox
Mr. Maddox, 62, of Charlotte, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, June 30, 2009. He grew up in Rutherford County, NC and graduated from R.S. Central High School where he played football and made life-long friends.
He was a veteran of the US Army and was a retired computer technician for AT&T and Time Warner Technology. While in the Army he was an instructor for the Hawk Missile Systems in Germany. There he met and married his wife of 40 years, Ciadi. He loved his family and was a very dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother and son. He was a true friend who had many friends and he never met a stranger. He was also a Bass Master for many years. He truly enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors and according to his beloved family, he was never wrong!
He is survived by his wife, Ciadi Ciotti Maddox; daughters, Sonja Maddox Drury and husband, Ray of Charlotte; daughter, Monica Maddox Richey of Charlotte; mother, Flossie Chapman Geer of Rutherfordton; sisters, Pat Keeter and Brenda Geer, both of Rutherfordton; and grandchildren, Brecken Richey, age 10, Gabriella Drury, age 4 and Sophia Drury, age 3. He was preceded in death by his father, J.V. Geer and grandson, Maddox Drury.
Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2009 with a Memorial Service to follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Forest Lawn West Funeral and Cremation Service. Reverend John Perry will be presiding.

My condolences go out to all of Ron's family. Ron and I worked together for a short time at AT&T when he and Footsie were loaned to our group at Golf Acres. I remember a warm, kind, fun-loving man. We enjoyed your hospitality when you hosted a company party at your lake house.
