Roy Hinson Obituary
NORWOOD -- Mr. Hinson, 70, retired president of Stanly Regional Medical Center, died Saturday, September 9, 2006 in Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Tuesday, September 12, 2006 in the Stanly Regional Medical Center Family and Education Center. The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Monday evening from 5 until 8 PM.
Stanly Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the family of Mr. Hinson.

Roy was simply one of the most fondest people I have met. Since meeting him in 1991, I always looked forward to talking with him. He left a special impression on me and will be missed dearly. God Bless. Lou, you and your family are in my prayers.

Roy and I were great friends working together in NC ASHRM and the AHA. He was a Gentleman's Gentleman, a great leader, and always driven to be the best. My heart aches as we say goodbye. I am thankful that Roy was a great friend to my dad and our family. He always had a vision of how he could serve and sacrifice for others and make life better for our community. He accomplished so much and yet did it in a very Christlike and humble way. Thank you Roy for the memories we will always carry with us. Lou, we love you and your family and will be praying for you.

I am deeply saddened by the death of Roy. He was such a kind, gentle, and Christian man who lived his faith each day. His legacy will live on in the work he did to bring better medical care to the citizens of this county. I valued his friendship and respect him for his honesty and his devotion to God, and family.
