Susan Burke Obituary

Susan Clark Burke
Mrs. Burke, 81, of Charlotte died July 18th at Huntersville Oaks. Mrs. Burke was born in Pulaski, Virginia on August 21, 1924 to the late Julius and Rebecca Clark. A Charlotte resident since 1958, Susan had been employed as an administrative assistant for Celanese. She was a member of Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church where she had been an active member of the Women's Group and Sunday School Class. Mrs. Burke was also a volunteer for the American Red Cross.
Besides her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Jason Campbell Burke who died in 1971.
Mrs. Burke is survived by her sons, Jason 'Jay' Burke and wife, Julie Ann of Rockwell and James 'Jimmy' Burke and wife, Monica of Huntersville. Also surviving are her 2 grandchildren, Adam and Sarah Ann Burke.
A Service of Remembrance will take place on Monday, August 21st at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of the Huntersville Oaks, 13001 Old Statesville Rd., Huntersville. The family will receive friends form 9:30 to 10:00.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, Suite 156, 200 E. Woodlawn Rd., Charlotte, NC 28217.
Carolina Funeral Service & Cremation Center is entrusted with the arrangements.
