William Costner GASTONIA - William Robert "Bill" Costner, 76, of 1181 Churchill Drive, passed away Friday, December 6, 2013. He was born in Gaston County son of the late Ray Hope and Mable Eastwood Costner. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Melissa Hyde. He was an avid golfer and retired from a management position with Equifax after 33 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Frances Grigg Costner; a son, William Barry Costner and wife Teresa of Bessemer City; a daughter, Lisa Costner Hyde and husband Donnie of Gastonia; two brothers, Don Costner and wife Jan of Dallas, and Ervin Costner and wife Patsy of Gastonia; two grandsons, Chad Costner and Brent Hyde; and two great-grandchildren, Baleigh Robinson and Makenzie Costner. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Costner will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 9, 2013, at the Spencer Mountain Baptist Church, 135 Lowell-Spencer Mountain Road, Gastonia with Pastor Conley Matlock and Pastor Chase White officiating. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 8, 2013, at the Church. Memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice, P.O.
