Jack Dean Crisp Sr.

1949 - 2023

Jack Dean Crisp Sr., 74, of Murphy, passed away Friday, July 21, 2023.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County and the son of the late C.W. "Bud" and Dorothy Greene Crisp.
Jack worked at the Tennessee Chemical Company, Wells & West and retired from Exum Auto Salvage. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Ranger Fire Department.
Jack loved dirt track racing all over; he was the crew chief for his family's dirt track racing team.
He was the best husband, dad and papaw.
He is survived by his wife, Polly Conley Crisp; one son, Jackie Crisp Jr. of Murphy; one daughter, Misty Beaver (J.R.) of Hiawassee, Ga.; one brother, Don Crisp (Janice) of Murphy; two sisters, Judy Rubiann of Cleveland, Ga., and Phyllis Green of Gainesville, Ga.; grandsons, Jeremy Woody (Heather), Justin Queen (Tonya), Logan Exum (Brittan) of Murphy and Stephen Crisp; granddaughter, Jessica Crisp and significant other, Johnny Ray Maxey; one step grandson, Lucas Beaver (Krysta) of Hayesville; one step granddaughter, Brittany Beaver of Hayesville; 10 great-grandchildren, Lake Woody, Camryn Wimberly, Trinity and Jonathan Queen, Willa Mae Exum, Jayon and Jupiter Maxey, Lilly, Victoria and Aaron Medlin.
Funeral services were held at noon Tuesday, July 25, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. The Rev. Aud Brown officiated. Burial was in Mount Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jeremy Woody, Justin Queen, Logan Exum, J.R. Beaver, Jim Exum and Freddie Conley. Honorary pallbearers were Steve Conley and Randy McDonald.
The family received friends from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, July 25, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
