It was my good fortune to have had the opportunity as a young police officer to work on one Clarence's tactical teams at (014) Shakespeare in the mid 70's. Talk about "old school". He set the bar for me as to how a boss / leader should be. After serving for nearly 30 years only a couple of other men came close to him. If you know anything about the Humboldt Pk. area in the mid 70's you know what we were up against and I NEVER ONCE hit the streets without the feeling that should I need it, Lt. Zanders would have my back. I have always had the greatest respect and admiration for him and always will. I know that I am a better man for having had Clarence in my life as I'm sure many others are. I offer my condolences to the Zander's family, I'm very sorry for your loss.

My condolences to the Zander's family. I had known him professionally and had the pleasure of working for him when he was the commander of the 19th district.
