Deanne Bowman Obituary

Deanne Bowman, 65, former New Trier High School teacher died of complications from front lobe dementia, Wednesday, Oct. 9. During her 15 years at New Trier, she taught a variety of courses in three different departments: English, Reading, and Speech. Deanne developed the course in radio workshop for the WNTH radio station where she was faculty advisor. She was also a girls class advisor. Deanne was born in Detroit, MI, and attended Pershing High School. She received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan in 1959 and her Master's degree from Northeastern Illinois University in 1986. In addition to her husband, Richard, Deanne is survived by four grandchildren; daughters Elizabeth Peterson and Karen Needler; brothers Norman and Fred Cassin; and by her mother Norma Hollstein. A memorial service followed by a reception will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 at St. Augustine's Episcopal Church, 1140 Wilmette Ave., Wilmette. Instead of flowers, the family requests that friends consider a contribution to the ''North Shore Senior Center's HOUSE OF WELCOME'', 161 Northfield Rd., Northfield, IL 60093.

I can't even imagine your devastation that this could have happened. With all that has been going on, however, take heart that she is now in a better place where she can again understand what is going on around her. Take comfort in the knowledge that at least she will now be in peace.
