Dear sweet friend, after remembering Nov 10th with regret for what the date meant, I now have a joyous remembrance of my first great grandaughter's birthday! She will be a year old this year and a joy to have. You were a great grandmother before me and now I know the joy these dear ones bring. I am holding in my heart another joy for you and that is your dear Jim's entrance into his heavenly home to be with you throughout eternity. This is such a beautiful gift and it warms my heart. May you both continue to rest in God's peace forever. Love you. Georgie

Oh, Georgie, how very sad to receive Joanie's call of your untimely passing. Gosh, Georgie, I had just seen you not too long ago and was looking forward to again getting together for one of our lunches which was always so enjoyed. We go back a "few" years, don't we? I didn't realize that we were a few months apart in age(I always thought you were so much younger than I was!) But I guess age didn't matter at all as we were growing up, did it? What a wonderful childhood we experienced and a friendship that has lasted throughout all these years. From our trips to "the Secret Tree", all the way at the end of Schiller St. with our peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for our lunch on our long trip. And, the hours spent with Mary in your basement making paper dolls like Brenda Starr. And, more hours playing hide and seek and street baseball until dark. All I had to do was call O-o Georgie and I had a friend to enjoy for hours. Our school lives took us in different directions. Me to Howard School and New Trier and you to St. Joe's and Mallinkrodt. But I will always remember the Saturdays that I tagged along with you to confession at St. Joe's ( I don't think you wanted to convert me but I always thought it was a pretty big deal to go to church with you! As the years passed our lives took on the roles of wives and mothers and families and I know that both of us gave all we had of our upbringing to do a good job at those positions. I will miss not receiving our annual Christmas greetings with family news (I was so jealous when I read that you were a great-grandmother! how beautiful that was!) Dear Georgie, I will miss you more than you can imagine. You were the thread that tied my wonderful Wilmette memories together and your memory will always be the brightest. God's blessings, dear friend, may His light shine on you forever and ever. Love, Margy Dietrich Olson
