Dr. Gerard J. Heing, 81, of Norwood Park. Beloved husband of 55 years to the late Dolores G. Heing, nee Stillmank, who passed away Aug. 16, 2008. Loving father of Jim, Tom (Valerie), Mary (Mike) Kirk,
Martha (the late Chris) Caldwell and Bob (Michele) Heing; proud grandfather of
Bridget, Sarah, Michael, Margaret, Jessica, Cameron and Julia. Visitation Sunday, from 2 until 7 p.m. at the M.J. Suerth Funeral Home, 6754 N. Northwest Hwy., Chicago. Family and friends meeting Monday, 10 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1633 N. Cleveland, Chicago, 60614 (1 blk N. of North Ave. between Halsted and Clark Streets), until time of Mass 11 a.m. Memorials to the Co-Redemptorist Association, 1230 S. My deepest sympathy to the children of Jerry and Delores. I have known them for many years --since I worked with Dr. Heing at National College of Education. I have had the highest respect for Dr. Heing as an educator, friend, and fellow opera lover. After not receiving a Christmas card from them this year, I investigated the reason why. I was deeply saddened to learn of the deaths of both of them.

My deepest sympathies on the death of Dr. Heing. He was Principal at Mather High School when I was a student there from 1970-1974. He was a wonderful leader of our school and of great support and encouragement to me. Blessings to all your family.

Our condolences to the Heing family on the loss of their dear father. We especially think of Mary, Martha, and Bob who knew or went to school with our children. You are in our prayers.
Your parents were among our first acquaintances on Sayre Av. and we do miss them.
