Glen Hess led a great life and I shall always remember the famous Fourth of July parties at your home. Glen and I golfed at LaGrange, Butler, watched Cubs games together and my wife Patty and I will always remember our combined family trip to Maui

Dear Gretchen and Greg,
I was so very saddened to hear that Glen is now gone to us. Such wonderful life-long memories beginning in the '60s in high school and continuing over the years. Your Dad was such a generous and fun person. One of fondest memories was a time in NYC when I was visiting your Mom and Dad. We had gone to a musical and walked home after the show. Walking the streets of NYC was like being in a movie set. I started singing "We're Off to See the Wizard" and the 3 of us linked arms and two-stepped down the sidewalk. Then Glen open his umbrella and did a grand imitation of Gene Kelly "Singing In the Rain" even spinning around one of the lamp posts. We laughed together about that night for years afterwards. Wish we had had smart phones back then. The video would have been priceless. How much he loved you and the grandchildren. Glen and Vicki will be in my heart forever.

Correction-The New Year's part hosted by Joe Hess was on December 31, 1963, almost fifty years ago.

I am saddened to learn of Glen's passing. Our friendship goes back to our days at Brook Park school from playing baseball on the vacant lots adjacent to the school, to his winning a dance contest on the TV show Bandstand Matinee, to countless good times throughout our youth. On December 31, 1966, Glen's dad, Joe, hosted a new year's eve party for us when all of us had turned 21. Over the years we remained in touch and seemed to run into each other at O'Hare airport or law libraries or….We always could share a laugh about his love for the Cubs and mine for the White Sox. In fact the last time we met in person was right after a Cubs game when we met with Ed Hrkel and our spouses in Brookfield. I will treasure Glen's friendship forever. Our deepest sympathies.

Please accept our deepest condolences at Glen's passing. The times I spent fishing with Glen will never be forgotten. He always had a great smile whenever he caught a fish and I will treasure those memories forever.

Glen, I hope you are saving a good fishing spot for me in the hereafter.
Will look forward to the day we fish together once again. Love you buddy.
