Met Jim in Minneapolis while we both worked at Scottie's on Seventh. A couple years later he was a groomsman in my wedding in Chicago and was the the guy who took me to my first Cubs game. Nothing but awesome memories of this guy. RIP Russ James

I was doing the exact same as Robert....searching the internet for a long lost friend and found this. This makes me very sad.
I worked at FBC with Russell for 2 years, '88-'90 I lost touch with him until 1998 when I moved back to Denver. Russell was kind enough to let me & my wife stay with him for a couple months in '98. I ran into him a couple of times after that but then lost touch with him again.
Russell & I had some good times together and I will miss him dearly. I'll remember him as a wonderful chef & as a mega lover of the Dead. I loved his stories of following them on tour & selling his chili to finance his trip to the next town.
Here is my email if anyone would like to communicate with me: [email protected]

I was just looking up my old friend Jim on the internet and, sadly, found his obituary.
Jim was a friend of mine back when I lived in Capital Hill. He would cook me up special items when he worked at FBC International. We shared a love of the Chicago Cubs and the Grateful Dead and Jim and I saw the last shows in Denver together. I will remember him riding the Red Rooster (his junker bike), and then the Blue Flame when someone actually stole the Rooster. I still have a t-shirt of the Grateful Bulls that he gave me. Jim is and will be dearly missed.

Jim was a great guy. I remember him from our grade school days, and he was a Little League teammate on Cha Lor Flowers. My heartfelt condolences to the Russell family.
