My big cousin Kiki touched anyone that ever met her. She posessed a strong yet soft, calm, passionate nature.
Her voice, her compassion, her understanding and her deep love for her family will never be forgotten. To have been loved by her is a blessing.
I always thought she spoke like a wise ol' Angel. Now she joins them. How lucky we are to have had her with us and now to have her watching over us. My heart goes out to Jim and all her Kids.

Janet was and will continue to be an inspiration to all who entered her life; and she theirs. Janet, lovingly and affectionately named Kiki and Jay, was a loving partner, daughter, sister, mother, yia yia, niece, cousin, aunt, aunt-in-law, sister-in-law, and friend.

As a fine intellect, humorist, teacher and artist she was there always willing and able, and with great patience encouraging and supporting family, friends, students, colleagues, fellow classmates, and fellow artists in their endeavors in leading and following their heart and passion for life, work, academia, the arts and performing arts, social policy and justice, assisting others in need, and in her love of family and friends.

Although, her passing is one of great sorrow; Janet's love, smile, laughter, humor, compassion, empathy, kindness, and acceptance of others has and always will be appreciated and remembered.

It has been said that everyone in our midst enters our lives for a Season, Reason, or Lifetime. For a Season to enjoy each others' company for a time. They are there for a Reason in our lives and to help us to better understand and in acceptance of ourselves and others. For a Lifetime, while remaining with a forgiving and loving heart. How blessed, we all are, when a person, like Janet chooses to remain and be present, in whatever capacity, in our lives, for a Lifetime.

I feel blessed to have known and loved Janet (and she me), and to have been a part of her life (and mine) for 39 years. She was there for me. We were there for each other in our Season, Reason, and Lifetime.

Janet was a women of substance, with all her strengths, weaknesses, idioysyncracies and habits uniquely her own.

Janet encouraged and inspired me, to continue from my heart to be a better person, a more confident woman, a better friend, a fine teacher, a good singer, and a writer of scholarly works and works from my heart. And, to face adversity and move forward with my head held high and my heart full of love and appreciation.

My love and deepest sympathy is extended to all who mourn her passing.

And, with a warm smile, a cackle-like laugh from deep inside, a loving embrace, and kissing her eyes....."Until we meet again,” Dearest, big sis, Kiki. Se aga po, Marilyn

I am so sorry to hear of Janet's passing, although I'm sure she is in a much better place now and is no longer suffering. My cousin Janet held a special place in my mother's heart as she was the first niece and almost more of a little sister to her. I'm sure my mom (Toni) and my Aunt Tula, as well as the rest of our family members that have passed away, were waiting with open arms at the pearly gates.

I wish I could be there for the service this weekend, but we just aren't able to make the trip from Las Vegas at this time. My deepest sympathy and love to Tori, Christopher, Jim, and the rest of the family.

May her memory be eternal.

Love,

Tina (Story) Liaos
