Jean Vanderbosch Obituary

It's with great sadness and love that we share the news of the passing of Jean Vanderbosch of Wilmette. She died peacefully on September 22 in the comfort of her home. Married for 60 years to the late James Vanderbosch, they led a life filled with family, love, travel, friends, and faith. Jean was the devoted mother of Christine (the late Terry Kearney), Kathy Perry (Christopher), Jim (Eydie), Gaby Round (John), Julie Zuercher (Joe), Cari Ahlstrom (Scott), and Joe (Anne). She was the adored grandmother of 24: Matt, Hannah, and Bob Perry; Jake, Rico, Quinn, and Danny Vanderbosch; John and Jeannie Round; Gina (Grant Butterfield), Clem (Rhyan), Jimmy (Lauren), Meg, and John Henry Zuercher; Scooter (Laura), Andy, Christian, Charlie, Timmy, and Gaby Ahlstrom; Ellen, Sophie, Joey, and Jimmy Vanderbosch. Proud Great Grandmother of Jeff and Bridget Butterfield, Henry Zuercher, Ben Zuercher, and Gabe Ahlstrom. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews. Jean was grateful to have so many friends who brought untold joy and laughter into her life. Her passions were decorating, collecting antiques, shopping, reading, and talking on the phone with her friends. She travelled the world for fun and adventure. We are comforted by the thought that she is in heaven with loving husband Jim, and her sorely missed parents. The family is very grateful for the loving care provided by Terry, Jerty, and Carmelli. Visitation Saturday, September 30, 2017, 10:00 a.m. until time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Francis Xavier Church, 9th Street and Linden Avenue, Wilmette, IL 60091. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jean's name would be appreciated for St. Francis Xavier School, 808 Linden Ave, Wilmette, IL 60091. Info: 847 675-1990 or www.donnellanfuneral.com.

Dear Vanderbosch Family,

We were sorry to hear of your mother's passing. Although I only met her a handful of times, she struck me as being a woman full of spirit and good humor, welcoming and warm! And, of course that spirit continues on in all of you, her pride and joy. Celebrating a life well lived...we wish you peace.

To all of Jean's family, I give you my prayers, my thoughts, and my thanks for loving my children. I will always have fond memories of your mom and grandmother. Especially our fun trips to Kane County. No one could shop like your mom (and expect me to get it home-we always did.)
