I was so sorry to hear about Joan's passing but was happy to know that her family was with her. I worked in District 39 while she was there. I admired her and all that she was able to accomplish there. I hope that wonderful memories will help to ease her family's grief.

Thinking of all the O’Malleys during this difficult time. I have such good memories of Joan. She was such a strong and kind woman, and made everyone around her feel important and valued. I know you are missing her terribly. Sending prayers for comfort to each of you, especially Marty.
With love,

We are very sorry to hear of Joan’s passing. Paul and Nancy spoke so highly of her. It is obvious she was well loved. Our prayers are with the entire family.

Joan was a woman ahead of her time. I remember being so impressed with her. We were in HS and she was driving us somewhere in the car and she was explaining bank accounts, CDs, and money markets and mutual funds. She was the first mom that I knew who was giving her son (and sons friend) life lessons about money. There were many other life lessons about other items. But at the time I really had not heard that kind of advise from a women. She was a leader, a trail blazer, and involved in aspects of life that had been previous closed to women. She had the courage to chase advanced careers. She was also a warm and loving person. Always interesting, talkative, and friendly. She will be sorely missed. Who will now take over as the mayor of the VI?
