Joel H. Stolar, MD, husband of the late Anne Paxton Stolar; loving father of Ellen and Jane; fond brother of the late Sherry Gunsberg. Graveside services Sunday 10 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery 9900 Gross Point Road, Skokie. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chicago Anti-Cruelty Society, 157 W. I was devastated to learn that my favorite doctor had passed away!!! I cried so hard!!! He took care of all the eye tumors I had in my eyes. Also, He use to always give me advice about other health issues I would talk about. And, as a physically disabled person, he never charged me the extra twenty percent from Medicare. He stated that no patient of his that was on Medicare would ever have to pay that 20 percent. This helped me out tremendously. He was the most loving, kind, compassionate Doctor I had ever met!!! I will miss him dearly!!! And now, I don't know who is going to remove my eye tumors from my eyes, the way that he successfully did a few different times!!! Dr. Stolar, rest in peace, as I know that Jesus is very proud of you for helping and showing love to all your patients, and everyone that knew you!!! I will always remember you, and never forget you!!! Any Doctor that takes care of me the way you took care of my eyes, will always be well loved by me!!! And, I loved you very much!!! Thank you for taking good care of my eyes!!!I will miss you dearly!!! And, both your loving daughters Ellen and Jane( and other family) will be in my prayers!!!

To the family of Dr. Stolar. My sympathies go out to you. Dr. Stolar was a fine man who had taken care of me for over 10 years. I just found out today. I am so sorry. My prayers go out to his family.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. I used to work at St Alexius with him, and I remember him as a very kind man with a good sense of humor. He touched many lives positively despite his own pain, and I remember him fondly.
