MICHAEL PHILBIN Obituary
Michael (Mike) Joseph Philbin passed away Feb. 4, 2012, loving father of Cathy Philbin; loving brother of the late Catherine Kummer (Bernard), the late Joan Tynan (Terry) , John Philbin, Rose Marie Regan (Larry); loving uncle of many nieces and nephews; loving son of the late Michael T. and Mary R. Philbin of Ireland. "To remember me give my sight to the man who has never seen a sunrise. If you must bury something, let it be my faults and weaknesses and all my prejudices against my fellow man. Give my soul to God. If by chance, you wish to remember me, do it with a kind deed or word to someone who needs you. If you do all I ask, I shall live forever." Veteran of U.S. Army (1950 to 1951), Korea. Graduate of the Augustinian Academy, Staten Island, NY. Proud alumni of Chicago Technical College and of Sigma Phi Delta International Fraternity of Engineers. Proud member of The Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Illinois, Brotherhood of the Elks and Loyal Order of the Moose. Proud member of The American Legion #162 of Deerfield Beach, FL. Visitation for family and friends at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 1775 Grove St., Glenview, IL on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 9 to 9:45 a.m. Mass 10 a.m. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

I called him "Irish Mike". I am happy to have known him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He always had a kind word and usually a funny joke. His absence will be surely felt.

Chicago Mike was the greatest! He brought such life and laughter to all.
We were all blessed to know him.
Hope he gets to see his dear friend, Barney Grogan!
