Robert Verstat Obituary

Robert P. Verstat, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Kaweah Delta Hospital in Visalia, CA. Born June 16,1940 in Chicago, IL to parents John and Marie Verstat. He grew up in the Chicago area and served in the United States Navy from 1958 - 1964. Survivors include his three children; Pamela Verstat, Robert Verstat Jr., Guy Verstat (wife Brenna). His three grandsons; Kevin Doane, Nanda Doane (wife Ronette), and Nicholas Doane. Robert was preceded in death by his wife Mary Jean Riley. Robert retired from the Hines VA Hospital as a Maintenance Electrician in 2005. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1016 where he served as Chaplain. Services will be held at 11:30am, Monday, April 17th at the St Domitilla Catholic Church 4940 Washington St., Hillside, IL. Viewing will be from 9:00am - 11:00am at Hursen Funeral Home, 4001 W. Roosevelt Rd., Hillside, IL

North lake, I´ll. I have many
fond memories of our friendship. Rest In Peace.

I was Bob´s Godfather. We both lived in Northlake as we grew up. I was his sponsor when he changed to Catholicism. He was a great guy and will be missed. Rest In Peace.
