Ronald Altpeter Obituary

Ronald Walter Altpeter of Fort Myers passed away on Friday, May 5th, 2023. Ron was born September 13, 1943, to Walter and Martha (Ficht) Altpeter in Argo, Illinois. Ron and his wife Patricia had called Florida their home for the winter months since 2002, they decided to call Florida their forever home in 2019. Ron attended Elementary school at St. Blase Catholic School in Argo, IL. He later attended Argo High School. Ron graduated from North Central College in Naperville, IL, then went to Northern Illinois University for his master's degree. Ron then started his 35-year teaching profession, educating in the field of physical education and continuing his passion for football as a Coach. Ron enjoyed many things, including, enjoying a Bloody Mary and cheering on his favorite team, the Chicago Bears, golfing and fishing to name a few. Those who knew him, knew his undeniable sense of humor, he would also find a way to fill any room with laughter. He had many lifelong friends that also made Florida home. He never missed a chance to show his family how much he loved them. Ron is preceded in passing by his parents and brothers, Dennis and Tommy. Ron leaves his loving memory with his survivors, beloved wife of 51 years, Patricia; daughter, Lisa Beth Grace; son, Mathew Ronald (DeAnna) Altpeter; as well as his grandchildren, Megan, Patrick, and Mathew. A Funeral Mass in memory of Ronald will be celebrated 10:30 AM, September 13, 2023, at St. John the XXIII Catholic Church, 13060 Palomino Lane, Fort Myers, FL. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 10:00 AM until the service. Ronald will be placed in the Memorial Garden at St. John XXIII following the Mass. A Celebration of Life Reception will follow the services at the Club House Dining Room at Heritage Palms Gulf and Country Club, 10420 Washingtonia Palm Way Fort Myers, FL 33966 239-278-9090. Ron's family has entrusted Fort Myers Memorial Gardens with the care of his final arrangements. In honor of Ron's memory, the family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Heart Association
