When I saw Steve earlier this year, I hadn't seen him since high school. He laughed when I called him Dizzy and said nobody called him that anymore. Those 52 years just melted away. I'll miss you, Diz.

Robin and Family,

Please accept heartfelt condolences and deep sympathy from the Cooperman family. Your family and our family were very close friends and neighbors in Morton Grove. Steve and your family meant a lot to us. Please know you are in our thoughts.

Had the pleasure of working with Steve a short time at AXA Equitable. I have good memories of the integrity and warmth he exuded. My empathy goes to the family. You lost a wonderful human being.

I worked with Steve at New England Financial for many years. I was so shocked and saddened by his loss and what he went through. Steve was a great guy and wonderful to work with. He always had a great joke to tell. My heart goes out to his family, and may he rest in peace.

We are all sorry to hear of Steve's passing. My brothers and I will always remember Steve for the delicious grilled bologna sandwiches he and Marv used to make at our annual family picnic in Cleveland. To this day, whenever I see a fried bologna sandwich on a menu I think of Steve by the grill with a huge grin on his face.

I'm gonna miss Diz--When I went up to Ojibwa for my first year, Dizzy made that first year so much easier! I can still hear that fog-horn/moo sound he would make. This world will be a little less happy with Steve gone. My condolences to the family!

My family has known Steve since we moved to Glenview when my son was in 1st grade. Soccer brought us together for many years. My son and Stu are still good friends. Steve was the best, always had good things to say. He will be missed. Sue, Stu and your familiy...you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I enjoyed my friendship with Steve from the time we met in 8th grade through recent times. He was a wonderful friend that I will never forget. How he loved his family - he was so proud of them. I know he will be missed by all that knew him. - Linda Weinstein-Bruce

Boy am I gonna miss this guy. That twitch he did with his mouth will always be remembered. Our gin games on Mondays will never be as good as they were when Stevie played. The guys are gonna miss him. Our thoughts are now with you, Sue, and your family.

With all our love,

I am so sorry to hear this news, just now from Chicago, and wish all of the family long life. I last saw Steve, looking terrific, in January, at the Lieberman Centre in Skokie, for the Shiva for my 100-1/2 year old mother who had just died there. He will be with us in spirit later this Summer no doubt for the stone setting. Love to him and G-d bless him. An absolutely diamond geezer as they say here. Roger Gewolb Lakeview '60 London, UK
