Darius Weber Obituary

DARIUS 'DJ' WEBER Darius (DJ) Weber passed away peacefully with his family present Sunday, March 11, 2018. He had a great life, but at 86 time and age caught up with him. Darius was born to Elmer and Aurelia Weber on November 13, 1931 in Los Angeles, California. The Weber Family was one of the pioneering citrus ranching families in Southern California having owned and planted oranges and lemons before the turn of the century. After graduating from Loyola University with a degree in History, Darius started farming with his father, eventually taking over the farm. He married Shirley Weber (Holzman), they started a family. Darius was drafted in 1954 and served in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany. In the early 1970's the Southern California farm was sold and the Weber family moved north purchasing the Edwards farm just north of Hamilton City. Darius farmed for many more years until his son, James took over the operation. Darius was a member of the Farm Bureau, served on the Glenn County Planning Commission, and the Glenn County Board of Education. He traveled a bit after his retirement, tried to pick up a few hobbies, frequently got in political arguments, but farming was always what he truly loved and wanted to do. He is survived by Shirley Weber; Children - Paul, James, Loretta, Claudia, Romilda, and Angela; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
