ROBERTA ROBERTS Roberta Roberts, 82, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018, after a short stay at The Inn at the Terraces in Chico, California. She was born in New York City on Sept. 29, 1935 to Corinne and Allen Von Maluski of New York. Roberta is survived by the love her life and cherished husband of 62+ years, Philip Roberts. They were married on December 10, 1955 in Brooklyn, New York. Roberta had 3 sons, Douglas, Wayne and Scott, and a daughter, Jill. Roberta and Phil were also blessed with 8 grandchildren, Brandy Marshall, Kevin Roberts, Jennifer Roberts, Ashley Herrmann, Amanda Julian, Trevor Herrmann, Dylan Roberts, Hailey Pearson, and 2 great grandchildren, Faith Marshall and Rosalyn Julian. All of Roberta's children, their spouses, and most of her grandchildren now live in Chico. Roberta worked for the American Baptist Society in N.Y.C before moving with Philip while pregnant with their 2nd son, to Van Nuys, California in 1960. She was employed by Lockheed in Burbank, CA in administration and by the Fullerton School District as an ESL instructor for a short period of time. Roberta's most rewarding role was raising their 4 children in Orange County, CA, also having lived in Buena Park, Cypress and Villa Park. Roberta and Philip moved to Chico in 1999, where their married daughter lived with her husband and daughter. Roberta's priority for her entire life was taking care of family and showing them by example, that LOVE and LAUGHTER is something they can thrive on by sharing it amongst themselves and with friends. She had strong religious beliefs in the Lutheran Faith. Roberta enjoyed RV trips with Phil to many parts of the West Coast and she especially looked forward to trips with her Elks Lodge friends both in Southern California and in Chico that is, when she wasn't travelling to a foreign country by plane or cruise ship. Roberta was many things to so many people; a wife, a mother, a friend, a confidant, and mostly a beloved and treasured angel to everyone she met. Her strongest bond was not only with her immediate family, but also with the hundreds of friends she made along her journey of life. She will be missed dearly by everyone she touched. A celebration of Roberta's life will be held at the Chico Elks Lodge (1705 Manzanita Ave, Chico, CA 95926) on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. Reception lunch will immediately follow the service. Roberta & Phil met & married around the same time his uncle Adam met & married my mom. I was 7. We shared many Coney Island days during which I appraised her exceptional beauty, gorgeous figure & easy going manner. To downplay such assets by deflecting attention to others is an art: she was a master. As we all matured, enduring life's ebb & flow and sometime chaos I marveled at how nothing fazed her measured composure. Whatever the crisis she handled it without public drama and with no small measure of humor. She was generous & kind in the Biblical sense and I never heard her say anything mean about anyone. If the eyes are the window of one's soul her perpetually laughing & sparkling eyes were, to me, her most striking feature. In my memory vault their image will shine on into Eternity. My Deepest Condolences goes out to Phil and the Family and Friends. Roberta was a very Special and Loving Person. I remember all the times we were with the Chico Elks R.V.ers. We had a Wonderful time. I also remember having to set up their satellite system, I also did that for serval other R.V.ers. Roberta and Phil are two Special People, She leaves a
legacy . I will always remember Roberta. She is now in Gods Hands with no more Pain or Suffering.

Roberta will be remembered as a very loving and caring ESL teacher in Fullerton. She was great working with adults who were from many other countries and needed to learn English to get along in life and their work world.
She certainly made her contribution to her fellow mankind.
