Ernestine Trimble

Chillicothe - Ernestine Trimble, 88, of Chillicothe, OH went to be with the Lord at 5:28 a.m. on January 31, 2021 surrounded by her family.

She was born December 16, 1932 in Paintsville, KY to James H. and Lillie Beecher Trimble. On January 27, 1956 she married Donald Bert Trimble in Lexington, KY. They moved to Chillicothe, OH in May 1957. He preceded her in death on May 6, 1993.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Terry Russell, and granddaughters Dr. Kelsey Michelle (Clayton) Harman of Dayton, OH and Kristen Nicole Cook of Columbus, OH. Also surviving are step grandchildren Amy (James) Turner of Chillicothe, OH and Andrew (Andrea) Russell of Circleville, OH; step great grandchildren Paisleigh Turner, Graeme Russell, and JoAnne Russell; a sister, Billie Jean (Earl) Newman of Seffner, FL; one sister-in-law, Elma Carol (Harold) Williams of Morehead, KY; nieces, Anita (Edward) Mason of Seffner, FL, Kelia (Gordon) Vollmar of Chillicothe, OH, Anita Ball, Sheila Gilley, and Renee Williamson all of Lexington, KY; nephews, Gregory (Carla) Newman of Mansfield, OH, Delbert (Penny) Trimble of Cincinnati, OH, David (Joy) Trimble of Fort Worth, TX, and Kyle Ball of Virginia Beach, VA; and special friends in life, Kay Williams and Jerry Helton of Lexington, KY and Dorothy Cox of Paintsville, KY. Also surviving are several cousins, great nieces, and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Dean Alan Trimble, on October 3, 1964; brother-in-laws and wives, Leon F. (Joan) Trimble and Nevin Rice (Millie) Trimble; sister-in-laws, Joyce Ross and Mrs. John (Jean) Ball; and three nieces, Diana Kearns, Teresa Trimble, and Dera Ball.

Ernestine graduated from Paintsville High School along with her sister in May 1950. They were the co-salutatorians of their class. Ernestine graduated from the business department of Mayo Vocational School in Paintsville, KY. After graduation from business school, she worked as a secretary and treasurer in the school superintendent's office in Paintsville, KY. Ernestine worked from 1957-1961 in Chillicothe at the Chillicothe school superintendent's office. She worked from April 22, 1974 to December 8, 2005 at the Chivaho Federal Credit Union, retiring as a loan officer.

Ernestine was a member of Chillicothe Baptist Church since July 1957. She and her sister were saved on September 10, 1944, in Paintsville, Kentucky during a revival and the congregation was singing "Jesus Paid it All." She was a church pianist for many years and also taught Sunday school and vacation bible school. She cherished her friendships in the Women's II Sunday school class.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great step grandmother. Her family will be eternally grateful for raising them in church and for teaching them the importance of being one of God's children.

Her favorite bible verses were Psalm 19:14 and John 3:16.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Chillicothe Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at the Rowland Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Joe Messer officiating. The service will be livestreamed. You can find the link for the live stream at the bottom of her obituary page. There will be no public calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.

Donna (& Ernestine’s family), I am so sorry for your loss, she was such a beautiful person inside & out. I think of her often, we became friends when I worked in HR & processed Mr. Trimble’s death benefits & she was always awesome helping me with credit union loans.
