Ruth Bower Obituary
CHILLICOTHE - Ruth E. Bower, 92, of Chillicothe, died 2:17 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2018 in Signature Health Care of Chillicothe following a brief illness.
She was born April 12, 1926, in Andersonville, Ohio, to the late Lee Roy and Viola Harris Tillis. On November 20, 1954, she married Carl M. Bower who died January 26, 2015.
Surviving are a daughter, Cathy (Chuck) Kellough, of Chillicothe; a son, Roy (Carolyn) Bower, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Tonya Smith, Ryan (Kyla) Kellough, Mindy (Pete) Burcham, Tammy (Shane) Sprague and Cory (Lauren) Bower; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Amos Tillis, of Pomeroy, Curtis (Connie) Tillis, of Kingston and Bill (Naomi) Tillis, of Pennsylvania; a sister, Goldie (Meredith) Ratcliff, of Circleville; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased a daughter, Kay Ellen Bower; brothers, John, Sherman, David, and Johnathan "Butch" Tillis; and sisters, Mary Rinehart, Nellie Krebs and Esther Kennedy.
Ruth was a former member of High Street CCCU and enjoyed attending Happy Valley Chapel. She was a former employee of the former US Shoe Corporation.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2018, in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Ron Cottrill officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday.
